City Council Regular
Consider Introduction of an Ordinance Restricting Parking on Holly Street
Sarah Greene, Administrative Assistant II
Staff requests the City Council introduce a no parking ordinance on the north side of Holly Street from Springbrook Drive to 93rd Avenue.
This segment of Holly Street is included in proposed 2019 street reconstruciton project 19-3. While reviewing the area and collecting data for the project's feasibility report, staff observed excessive on-street parking on both sides of Holly Street between Springbrook Drive and 93rd Avenue. Staff believes parking restrictions on the north side of Holly Street would increase safety by eliminating sight obstructions and a narrow roadway, and allow larger vehicles to safely navigate the road in the commerical area.
City staff sent the attached letter to adjacent property owners informing them of staff's recommendation. No feedback was recieved at the time this memo was drafted; staff will inform Council of any comments submitted before the November 7th meeting. Staff will send a follow-up letter to property owners based on Council's potential introduction of the ordinance.
Staff recommends the City Council introduce an ordinance restricting parking on the north side of Holly Street from Springbrook Drive to 93rd Avenue.
