Subject:    Consider Resolution Authorizing Acquisition of Tax Forfeit Property, 10841 Kumquat St.

The HRA is asked to adopt a resolution authorizing acquisition of a tax-forfeit property at 10841 Kumquat Street and accepting a deed.
On July 16, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution 19-72 requesting that Anoka County convey a single-family house located at 10841 Kumquat Street to the HRA. Because significant code enforcement activity has occurred at this location and the structure displays blighted conditions, Staff proposes acquiring the property as part of the HRA's Scattered Site Acquisition Program. The purchase price is $75,300 and Staff intends to have the house demolished and sell the lot for redevelopment. The HRA is asked to adopt Resolution HRA 19-1, which authorizes acquisition and acceptance of a deed.
Staff recommends that the HRA adopt Resolution HRA 19-1 authorizing acquisition of a tax forfeit property at 10841 Kumquat Street.
