Consider Resolution Authorizing Acquisition of Tax Forfeit Property, Port Riverwalk

The HRA is asked to adopt a resolution authorizing acquisition of tax-forfeit properties in conjunction with the Port Riverwalk redevelopment project and accepting deeds.
Earlier this year, the HRA approved amendments to a purchase agreement with Centra Homes for the HRA-owned Port Riverwalk redevelopment site. One of the items addressed in this amendment involves conveyance of a sliver of tax forfeit property along Coon Rapids Boulevard east of Avocet Street. City Staff and representatives of the Anoka County Highway Department previously determined that the land is not needed for future road projects. These properties include:
Lot 6, Block 3, Coon Grove, Anoka County, Minnesota
Lot 9, Block 3, Coon Grove, Anoka County, Minnesota
On June 18, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution 19-63 requesting that Anoka County convey these lots to the HRA. The HRA is asked to adopt Resolution HRA 19-2, which authorizes acquisition and acceptance of deeds. The sale price for the properties is $200.
Staff recommends that the HRA adopt Resolution HRA 19-2 authorizing acquisition of tax forfeit properties along Coon Rapids Boulevard.
