Consider Resolution 19-24(8) Accepting Plans and Specifications for West Water Treatment Plant HVAC Improvements, and Authorize Solicitation of Bids
Sarah Greene, Administrative Assistant II
Staff is seeking acceptance of plans and specifications, and authorization to bid proposed upgrades to the heating and ventilation system serving the West Water Treatment Plant.
Staff is proposing upgrades to the heating and ventilation system serving the West Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). The project will include improvements to the boiler room combustion air and heating system, chlorine room HVAC system updates, controls upgrades, and removal/demolition of unused/obsolete equipment.
In May 2019, staff retained Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH) to provide professional engineering design, bidding services, and construction administration for the project. Plans and specifications are available for review in the Public Works Director's office.
If approved, solicitation of bids would occur in October. It is anticipated that Council would consider an award of contract on November 5, 2019, and construction would begin in December.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 19-24(8) accepting plans and specifications for West Water Treatment Plant HVAC Improvements, and authorize the solicitation of bids.
Funding for the West Water Treatment Plant HVAC Improvements project is included in the 2019 Water Fund budget (601).
