Adopt Resolution 19-96 Calling for a Public Hearing to Vacate Utility Easement

Council is asked to consider a resolution to set a public hearing for a utility vacation located at 3200 Main Street, Coon Rapids, MN 55448.
On June 20, 2019, Red Mill Properties, LLC received site plan approval from the Planning Commission for the construction of a 6,100 square foot multi-tenant commercial building proposed on the northeast corner of the Wells Fargo building site located at 3200 Main Street. This project requires the relocation of an existing watermain pipe currently located within a 20-foot wide drainage and utility easement. The existing drainage and utility easement needs to be vacated, and a new 20-foot wide drainage and utility easement conveyed over the realigned watermain pipe. Staff requests the Council adopt a resolution to begin the process of vacating the utility easement. A vacation petition may be initiated by the City Council upon adoption of a resolution by 4/5 majority. Resolution 19-96 calls for a public hearing on November 6, 2019 for Council to consider this vacation.
